این آزمایش با هدف بررسی تأثیر­گذاری کربن فعال بر کاهش اثرات منفی آفلاتوکسین بر تولید گاز، قابلیت هضم ماده خشک و ماده آلی جیره غذایی انجام گرفت. آزمایش با فرض امکان کاهش اثرات منفی آفلاتوکسین به ­واسطه کربن فعال در قالب طرح کاملاً تصادفی با شش تیمار و چهار تکرار در هر تیمار انجام گرفت. تیمارهای آزمایشی شامل 1- جیره پایه (شاهد)، 2- جیره پایه + متانول ، 3- جیره غذایی آلوده با متانول حاوی آفلاتوکسین به­ میزان 800 نانوگرم در میلی ­لیتر مایع شکمبه، 4- جیره غذایی آلوده با آفلاتوکسین + هفت میلی­ گرم کربن فعال در 200 میلی ­گرم خوراک، 5- جیره غذایی آلوده با آفلاتوکسین + 75 میلی­ گرم کربن فعال در 200 میلی­ گرم خوراک، 6- جیره غذایی آلوده با آفلاتوکسین + 150 میلی­ گرم کربن فعال در 200 میلی­ گرم خوراک بودند. برای اندازه­ گیری میزان تولید گاز و قابلیت هضم، از شیشه­ های با حجم 100 میلی ­لیتر به­ روش کشت ثابت استفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد که تیمار آفلاتوکسین سبب کاهش معنی­ داری در تولید گاز، قابلیت هضم ماده خشک و آلی شد و با اضافه ­کردن سطوح مختلف کربن فعال، تولید گاز و قابلیت هضم ماده خشک و آلی افزایش یافت. غلظت نیتروژن آمونیاکی در گروه آفلاتوکسین حداکثر بود و با افزودن سطوح افزایشی کربن فعال غلظت آن کاهش یافت. عامل تفکیک، تولید توده زنده میکروبی و بازده تولید توده زنده میکروبی به­ طور مشخص در گروه آفلاتوکسین کمترین مقدار بود و با افزودن کربن فعال، افزایش یافتند. می­ توان نتیجه گرفت کربن فعال به ­عنوان توکسین بایندر عمل کرده و قادر است اثرات منفی آفلاتوکسین بر تخمیر شکمبه ­ای را کاهش دهد.
